The character
A huge, dog-like beast that curls up at Captain Jasu's feet and goes wherever she whistles. It hasn't eaten for days, because the Akk needs a challenge: it has to hunt.
On this world, all that lives here are small rodents. Except, as Jasu puts it, for their prey.
The making of
The Akk isn't a stock asset or an AI generation. It's the VFX team's own take on a Star Wars creature never before seen in live action.
The creature designers studied comics, books and games, and animals here on Earth, to work out how it moves and how it looks. Then they sketched it, modelled it, textured it and animated it by hand.

Nick is a recent graduate from the University of Chichester. He achieved a First Class BA (Hons) whilst studying 3D Animation & VFX. He now works as a freelance VFX Compositor and is responsible for managing the various different tasks on the VFX pipeline for this project.

Connor is a recent graduate from the University of Chichester. He achieved a Second Class BA (Hons) in 3D Animation & VFX. Through his tenure at university, Connor was able to develop skills in multiple disciplines related to 3D keyframe animation and pre-production. Following this, Connor now works as a freelance 3D keyframe animator with a particular skillset for working with characters and creatures.
